Eddie Hearn is confident that the WBC will place Dillian Whyte as the mandatory challenger for Tyson Fury's belt, which will lead to the confirmation of the bout.
Whyte was widely expected to be given mandatory status last month but the WBC held off amid an ongoing arbitration case with the Brit - which ironically stems around the lack of a title fight being ordered.
That cast Fury 's fight future into doubt, with it highly likely he'll need a spring fight to keep active before facing the winner of Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk in a unification bout.
While a number of potential candidates to face Fury have been floated, Whyte has remained the favourite to be given his shot.
