Tyson Fury's next opponent is now all but confirmed after the WBC have officially ordered him to face mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte.
The two camps will now go into the free negotiations period. This, giving them 30 days to agree a deal or purse bids will be called.
It was widely expected that a bout between the two Brits would be ordered last month but complications have left Fury's immediate fight future shrouded in uncertainty.
Whyte pulled out of a bout against Otto Wallin on October 30th with a shoulder injury and was keen to avoid a reschedule. Along with promoter Eddie Hearn, Whyte had been pushing for Fury to be named as his next opponent - which the WBC were expected to agree with.
