Two people rushed to hospital after emergency services scrambled to crash

Two people were taken to hospital after a crash in Rochdale. The smash happened in Yorkshire Street just before 10pm last night (Wednesday).

Police officers, paramedics and firefighters were called to the main road on the edge of the town centre. Pictures showed the road taped off as emergency services responded.

Several police and ambulance vehicles were photographed at the scene, as well as a Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service Technical Response Unit and fire engine. The road was reopened again at around 1am this morning, according to traffic alert service Inrix. A North West Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We took two patients to hospital following a road traffic collision.
