Two men arrested after armed police descended on Glasgow street

Gartcraig Road at around 8.25pm on Saturday, August 21, when the alarm was raised. Locals reported being told to say inside as armed police swarmed the area last night.

A 36-year-old man was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with a serious head injury following the disturbance. A 22-year-old man was also taken to the hospital with a back injury before being released after treatment.Both men have now been charged following the incident and are due to appear in court on Monday.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 8.25pm on Saturday, 21 August, to a report of a disturbance in Gartcraig Road, Glasgow.“A 36-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with a serious head injury and released after treatment.
