Two schoolboys were attacked by knife-wielding thugs outside a school. The pair were assaulted in Swinton yesterday afternoon.
One boy suffered a stab wound to the hand and the other escaped unharmed after the attackers attempted to knife him in the leg.
Both the victims were aged 14. Police were alerted just after 3.30pm yesterday to reports of a stabbing on Manchester Road, Wardley close to St Ambrose Barlowe RC High School, where pupils queue for buses at end of lessons.
But neither the victims or the suspects were pupils at the school. It is understood both victims were attacked by two other boys aged 15 and 17 who were in possession of a knife.
