Police have made an arrest after a street in Ashton was taped off due to a "nasty" assault which saw a man attacked with a bottle in broad daylight.
Stamford Street in the centre of Ashton was cordoned off at the junction of Booth Street towards the junction with Cavendish Street, with at least two police vehicle spotted by passersby on Sunday afternoon, October 9.
Crime scene investigators were spotted at the scene earlier on Sunday afternoon, before the road was later reopened to traffic.
Witnesses reported seeing a "nasty" assault, where one victim was left "badly hurt". One told the Manchester Evening News: "It was awful, I saw the majority of it from my car and it was really nasty.
