Two teenage boys have been charged in connection with alleged Facebook Marketplace robberies. Detectives begun investigating a series of reported robberies linked with ads claiming to be selling bikes.

Two 17-year-old boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have since been charged with three robberies and one attempted robbery.

They both appeared at Manchester Magistrates' court on Monday (January 27). The charges come after an investigation was launched by GMP's Manchester Central Criminal Investigation Department, who were probing reports of three separate incidents in the south Manchester area.

The incidents were reported between December 20 last year and January 21, where members of the public had arranged to meet up with online sellers claiming to have a bicycle for sale.
