Two arrested as police stop driver running illegal 'mobile pharmacy'

Two people have been arrested after police uncovered a 'mobile pharmacy' selling suspected fake or illegal prescription medicines.

The discovery came after officers stopped a suspicious vehicle on Orchard Street in the Scholes area of Wigan. Police say the driver 'appeared to be running his own mobile pharmacy' which was 'dispensing suspected stolen or fake prescription only medicine' He was arrested on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs.

In a statement on Facebook GMP Wigan and Leigh said: "The medicines will be forensically tested to determine if they do actually contain the right ingredients as much of this type of trade involves fake product which can and has resulted in sudden death of users."
