Two adults are in a critical condition in hospital after 'bravely' intervening to desperately try and save children during a violent stabbing rampage in Southport on Monday (July 29).
Two children were killed with nine others left injured, six of whom are also in a critical condition, after a man walked into a Taylor Swift-themed dance party armed with a knife.
Emergency services were called to the stabbings at a property on Hart Street, in Southport, north of Liverpool, at about 11.50am on Monday. READ MORE Two children dead after 'ferocious' stabbings in Southport with teenage boy arrested on suspicion of murder At a press conference on Monday evening, Merseyside Police Chief Constable Serena Kennedy said that officers arrived to find that multiple people, including children, had been 'subjected to a ferocious attack' and were left with serious injuries.
Ms Kennedy revealed that the male offender, who was armed with a knife, had 'walked into the premises and started to attack the children inside'.
