TV Academy to Launch First-Ever Festival, ‘Televerse,’ in August

Michael Schneider Variety Editor at Large The Television Academy is getting into the festival business. The org is planning to launch “Televerse,” its first-ever TV fest, in August at the JW Marriott at L.A.

Live in downtown Los Angeles. Televerse will take place from August 14 to August 16 — right before final-round Emmy voting takes place starting August 18.

But the TV Academy’s event won’t just be for Emmy campaigning, as the festival will also be consumer-facing, allowing non-members to attend as well.

According to the TV Academy, which announced Televerse on Thursday, the event will include panels with this year’s Emmy-nominated programs and stars, as well as an immersive event space about TV production and a look at artisans and crafts.
