Donald Trump is pleading the fifth. The former President of the United States invoked the fifth amendment and refused to answer questions amid a deposition conducted by the New York attorney general on Wednesday (August 10), via CNN. “Under the advice of my counsel and for all of the above reasons, I declined to answer the questions under the rights and privileges afforded to every citizen under the United States Constitution,” Trump said in a statement. In a post on Truth Social earlier in the day, he said: “My great company, and myself, are being attacked from all sides. Banana Republic!” The news comes as Trump‘s Florida home was raided by the FBI earlier in the week, and more details are still coming out.
