Troye Sivan has teases his first album in 5 years with a forthcoming new single, Rush. The Australian multi-hyphenate hasn't releases a project since 2021's languid In A Dream EP, and his last studio album was the studied pop of 2018's Bloom.
But Troye does seem to be aiming for the big leagues this time - revealing in several interviews that he's recruited a hit team of collaborators for his third LP, including Max Martin and his WolfCousins cohort (Troye's most frequent collaborator is WolfCousins memher OzGo) as well as Charli XCX's creative director and PC Music affiliate A.G Cook, which seems to signpost that the forthcoming record with balance the world of both commercial and avante-garde pop.
The first single from this album, Rush, is due soon, and Troye has already teased the release via his Instagram. Enough saying ‘soon’, this is for YOU and it starts NOWWWW." One of the few out male pop stars of his generation, Troye first came up via YouTube, before pivoting to Lana Del Rey-esque baroque pop with his 2015 concept record Blue Neighbourhood (that album's most successful single in the UK was Wild, which reached Number 62, while Youth went Top 20 in the US).
