A number of Glasgow residents have hit out after being woken up by an early morning TRNSMT festival soundcheck on Saturday. Locals reported being disturbed at around 8am by headliner Sam Fender prepping for his set at Glasgow Green tonight.
The morning tunes were reportedly heard as far away as Pollok, leaving many people 'raging' at organisers' decision to kick off preparations so early.Sam Fender is due to perform on the main stage at 9.15pm, but thanks to this morning's sound checks, many may already know his set plans.
Among the early morning set was a cover of Scots band Frightened Rabbit.A woman tweeted the Geordie singer saying: "Cheers @SamFender for waking me up at 8.15am on this great Saturday morning. #F***soundcheck#imoanthenightshift #TRNSMT2023."Another said: "Huge thanks to whoever authorised TRNSMT folk to start warming up at f**kin 8am on a Saturday morning, from an extremely raging nightshift person."One nearby resident said hearing Sam Fender's song left her in tears.
She added: "Because I live at Glasgow Green I've just heard Sam Fender covering the Modern Leper by Frightened Rabbit tonight for TRNSMT.
