Jamie Barrow, from Clifton, who brutally murdered a family by setting their flat on fire, has had his minimum prison term reduced.

Originally handed a 44-year sentence in July 2023 for the devastating crime against Fatoumatta Hydara and her daughters Naeemah Drammeh and Fatimah Drammeh, now after an appeal, the Court of Appeal at the Royal Courts of Justice in London have ruled that 38 years would be a more appropriate time period.

Living next door to Hydara and her children, Barrow committed the horrendous act by pouring petrol through the letterbox of their Fairisle Close home in the early hours of November 20, 2022, before setting it alight as they slept.

The victims tragically passed away due to smoke inhalation, Nottinghamshire Live reports.
