Tributes paid to tragic Glasgow teen killed in 'hit and run' one year on from his death

Tributes have been paid to a teenager from Glasgow who was killed in an alleged hit and run one year on from his tragic death.

Aidan Pilkington was allegedly knocked down on Crow Road in the west end of the city at around 12.20am on Saturday, September 11, 2021.

The 18-year-old was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but sadly could not be saved, and was pronounced dead a short time later.On the anniversary of his death, heartfelt tributes have poured in for the youngster, who worked at McDonald's and was due to move to Dundee to start university just one week after he died.Broomhill Sports Club posted pictures on their social media of Aidan as a tot decked out in the local strip, and remembered him fondly while sending condolences to his family.In the Facebook post, they also touched upon the magnitude of their own personal loss.

A spokesperson wrote: "We are thinking of Aidan Pilkington and his family today. A year ago we lost a team mate and a friend.
