A 69-year-old woman from the US who died in a horror crash on the A9 has been named by police. Jacalyn Margittay, of Sturgeon Bay in Wisconsin, died after the dark grey Hyundai i10 car she was driving collided with a white Volkswagen Golf and a white Ford Transit van on the A9 at Dunkeld around 12pm on Friday, September 16.
Emergency services, including Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service, raced to the crash site but sadly, Jacalyn could not be saved, and was pronounced dead upon arrival.The mum-of-three had been in Scotland with a friend, and had been visiting loved ones on her travels.
The passenger, a 76-year-old woman, was airlifted to Ninewells hospital following the smash.She sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Golf, a 71-year-old man, and the passenger, a 53-year-old woman, were also taken to Ninewells Hospital by paramedics, both with serious injuries.The driver of the van was not injured.
