Edinburgh Airport could face disruption over the festive period due to a pay dispute that may result in strikes. North Air's tanker drivers, who supply fuel to airlines, are considering strike action, the Unite union has announced.

The disagreement stems from a rejected 4.5 per cent pay offer by North Air following years of below-inflation pay increases, according to Unite. However, the company has not made an improved pay offer. Unite has warned that unless there is progress on pay in the coming days, strike dates will be announced which could significantly impact peak festive season flights.

Potential affected routes include United Airlines to New York, Emirates to Dubai and Loganair’s domestic routes to the islands.
