Teenagers with eggs pelted tram passengers at a stop in Greater Manchester. Passengers were left covered in yolk after the throwers lobbed eggs into carriages in a suspected bout of trick-or-treat mischief.

The egg throwers unleashed carnage at one stop on the Manchester to Bury tram line tonight (October 31) as Halloween festivities got underway.

A witness reported being on a tram at Bowker Vale Metrolink stop at around 5.30pm when a group of youngsters waiting on the platform through eggs onto the tram. "I looked up and there was egg all over people.

One girl had eggs all in her hair and egg shells, the man next to me had it all over his face and coat." At the two subsequent tram stops, Heaton Park and Prestwich, the witness spotted groups of children as well as egg boxes on the floor and said it appeared as though multiple stops had been hit.
