Junk food adverts could be banned on all buses and trams in Greater Manchester. Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is reviewing its advertising policy which could result in restrictions on adverts featuring foods that are high in sugar, salt and fat.
It comes as all buses across the city-region are being brought under public control with the first franchised services rolled out in Bolton, Wigan and parts of Bury and Salford in September.
All local buses will be part of the Bee Network by January 2025. Earlier this year, councillors requested a review of TfGM's advertising policy to make sure it aligns with other objectives in the city-region.
That review is now under way with a report set to be brought to the Bee Network committee 'in the near future'.
