A person was tragically found dead on the railway line between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport on Monday night (January 20).
There was 'major disruption' between the two major stations and services to the airport following the incident at Burnage station.
Emergency services, including police and paramedics, were called to reports of a casualty on the tracks at the south Manchester station, at around 9.30pm.
All services between the two stations were cancelled while police responded, with services from Blackpool and Liverpool also suspended throughout the remainder of the evening.
