A man has died in the water on the English coast, with emergency services responding to the incident in Northumberland. Police were called out to reports of concern for the welfare of a man in the water off the coast of Seaton Sluice just after 2pm on Wednesday (February 12).
Emergency services arrived at the scene near the coastal village, including the ambulance service. But the man was sadly pronounced dead a short time later, ChronicleLive reports.
His next of kin have been informed, and police say they are satisfied that there are no suspicious circumstances around the man's death, with a report now being prepared for the coroner.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "Shortly after 2pm yesterday (Wednesday), we received a report of concern for the welfare of a man in the water off the coast of Seaton Sluice.
