Trafford Centre to charge for parking for first time at site for 'premium shoppers'

The Trafford Centre is to charge for parking for the first time with a new Premium Parking area with larger bays - to appeal to shoppers heading to posh department store Selfridges.

The Upper Peel 5 Car Park next to the Selfridges entrance has been undergoing a major transformation for months. Many had assumed the car park was just being resurfaced.

But the area is actually being revamped ready to launch the Trafford Centre's first Premium Parking area. READ MORE: Shoppers divided as The Range make big change in stores The revamp includes expanding the sizes of car parking spaces - reducing the overall number to 200 from 250.

This is to make the spaces easier for 'larger vehicles and family cars' to park in. This is said to reflect the needs of 'premium shoppers' heading to the shopping centre.
