A popular dessert parlour in Stockport has reopened to the public almost six months after an incident caused the store to close.
In April, Kaspa’s, located at Stockport Retail Park, was forced to shut after suffering smoke damage following what was believed to have been an internal fire from a fridge within the unit.
The KFC store next door was also closed following the incident. On Wednesday afternoon (September 25), Kaspa’s, which is known for its milkshakes, ice creams and sweet treats, finally reopened as part of a soft launch - with big plans already in store for a grand reopening this Saturday. READ MORE: New Greek café and wine bar offering ‘Mediterranean twist on classics’ to open in Greater Manchester Alongside a brand new menu, which includes the likes of giant American waffles and crepes, alongside cookie dough and sundaes, co-owner Nidal Alkhanshali said the café has also received a complete makeover to coincide with the reopening. “It’s been a long six months in the works, but the whole shop has basically all been rebuilt since then,” Nidal told the Manchester Evening News. “We’ve got a brand new menu, and we’ve got a whole new look inside. “It's a lot more modern and colourful than what we had before.
It used to be quite dark, but we’ve gone for brighter colours to make it stand out more. It’s basically a brand new store.” Nidal said that in the months since closing, he’s been inundated with messages from regular customers asking when they are reopening.
