Renfrewshire awoke to a blanket of snow this morning as overnight flurries left a carpet of the white stuff across the area.It came after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for snow and lightning, in place for much of Scotland - including Renfrewshire and the central belt - as well as most of Northern Ireland.The warning was active from 5pm yesterday and will be in place until 8pm today, with forecasters warning the rare 'thundersnow' phenomennon could bring "Frequent heavy snow showers", alongside "very gusty winds and a chance of frequent lightning affecting some places".
