Tougher rules for motorists will come into force next week in a move to crack down on those using mobile phones when driving.

In 2020, the Department for Transport reported 17 people were killed on British roads in crashes involving drivers distracted by mobile phones.

A further 114 people were seriously injured and 385 were slightly injured in such collisions. Consequently, the government is making rules on mobile phones in cars clearer, so drivers can more easily be fined or prosecuted if they break the law, reports Wales Online.
