Central Scotland Tory MSP Graham Simpson is calling for the Government to guarantee exams will go ahead as planned.He wants assurances that every pupil in Lanarkshire will be able to sit national school exams this year.
His call comes after SNP Education Secretary Shirley-Anne Somerville said on Sunday that a decision on whether exams will be cancelled may not be made until the end of March.

He told Lanarkshire Live : “The SNP must assure every pupil in Lanarkshire that they will be able to sit their exams this year as planned. “Another year of exam chaos is unthinkable given the uncertainty pupils have endured over the last couple of years.“Our young people, teachers and parents in Lanarkshire cannot be left in the dark until the end of March.
