The world of comedy is in mourning as the talented Tony Slattery has passed away at 65 after a heart attack, his partner Mark has confirmed.
Known for his sparkling wit on shows such as Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Just A Minute and Have I Got News For You, Slattery was a familiar face to many.
His partner stated: "It is with great sadness we must announce actor and comedian Tony Slattery, aged 65, has passed away today, Tuesday morning, following a heart attack on Sunday evening." A beloved figure, Slattery gained acclaim at Cambridge University alongside names like Dame Emma Thompson and Hugh Laurie.
As a past president of the famed improvisation group Cambridge Footlights, his comedic legacy continued with recent tours and the launch of his podcast 'Tony Slattery's Rambling Club' just last October.
