TONY Docherty haș defended Dundee’s decision to go out and bring in a whole team of loan players.The Dark Blues currently have 11 players in on-loan from domestic and English clubs.
Docherty haș insisted Dundee had to do it because as the newly-promoted club they must do whatever they can to bridge the gap on taking that step up to the Premiership.
Docherty’s loan dealings has seen him take in Owen Dodgson, Michael Mellon and Dara Costelloe in from partner club Burnley, while Zach Robinson has come up from AFC Wimbledon.Forest Green Rovers' Amadou Bakayoko, Ryan Howley of Coventry City, Crystal Palace youngster Malachi Boateng, Aaron Donnelly from Nottingham Forest, Norwich City's Jon McCracken, Motherwell's Ricki Lamie and Liverpool’s Owen Beck make up the rest of his loanees.
Docherty, whose side takes on Ross County this weekend, stated: “You need to build foundations and go through a process - you can’t put the whole foundations down straight away.
