Tom Holland has started filming his highly-anticipated new movie! The 28-year-old Spider-Man actor was seen aboard a large wooden ship alongside director Christopher Nolan as they filmed scenes for The Odyssey on Thursday (March 13) in the sea outside of Methoni, Greece.
While aboard the boat, Tom wore brown cloak over a wine-red tunic while Christopher, 54, was seen standing behind him and wearing a life vest.
The boat appeared to heading towards a castle on the edge of the sea with extras dressed up as Greek warriors. Late last year, it was announced that the Oppenheimer filmmaker will be making an adaptation of Homer‘s epic poem. “The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to IMAX film screens for the first time and opens in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026,” Universal Pictures previosuly announced.
The Odyssey chronicles “the ten-year journey of Odysseus, king of Ithaca, back to his home after the fall of Troy,” according to GoodReads. Homer wrote it around the 8th or 7th century BC.
