Tom Cibrowski, who had top roles at ABC News, has been named president and executive editor of CBS News. Cibrowski’s appointment follows the exit of Adrienne Roark, who announced last week that she was going to Tegna for a senior role.
Wendy McMahon, CEO and president of CBS News and Stations, said in a statement, “Tom brings a clear vision, fresh perspective and competitive edge that will serve us well here at CBS News.
From bringing GMA to #1 to his vast international experience, I have no doubt he will lead CBS News to new heights. He will be instrumental in our mission to elevate the quality of our news coverage and strengthen our commitment to excellence.” Variety first reported that Cibrowski was expected to take a top leadership role.
Cibrowski will start on March 17. More to come. By providing your information, you agree to our Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy.
