Emer O’Neill is one of the newest presenters to grace our screens on RTÉ’s Today Show, and although she is always radiant while on camera, the mother-of-two has admitted that she suffered in silence from depression.
During a recent interview with the Irish Times, Emer revealed that it was during her time in America, when she became pregnant with her first child, that her depression crept in.
Emer had been playing basketball in the States, and she became pregnant, and she said it didn’t work out with her son’s father, who she calls his ‘biological father’.
The presenter was then pregnant and alone living in Miami, and seven months into her pregnancy, she decided to move home to Ireland and that’s when her mental health started to struggle.
