Timo Werner could be on the move this summer, with his release clause acting as an attractive proposition for top clubs. Despite Liverpool being reluctant to spend big due to the coronavirus pandemic, they are reported to see immense value in the RB Leipzig striker.
Werner has a well-documented clause in his contract enabling clubs to sign him for just £52million if the clause is activated before June 15.
But, according to The Athletic, that clause could be changed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. That’s because a FIFA document of proposed changes to the transfer window explicitly points out that negotiating changes of dates on options and clauses in existing contracts can happen quite freely.
