Joe Exotic is said to be engaged to a fellow inmate after finding love behind bars. Joe – real name Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage – was sentenced to 22 years in prison in January 2020, but has since had a year shaved off his lengthy sentence.

The 59 year old was convicted for attempting to hire two different men to kill animal rights activist Carole Baskin. Joe’s thought to be currently detained at a prison in North Carolina, but met his now-fiancé, reportedly called John Graham, while being held in Texas.

In a letter obtained by TMZ from Joe's attorney Autumn Blackledge, Joe gushed over his alleged husband-to-be. "If you ever watched Twilight, it's as close as that,” Joe wrote of their love.

He continued to say that he and John were housed in the same unit before sparking a romantic relationship, and that they had a “fast attraction” to one another.
