A hammer-wielding law student who "threw away" his future as he raided a disabled man's house saw his criminal actions brought to a sharp end.
Shamas Malik carried out a deliberately targeted burglary at the man's home, a court was told. The 22-year-old's actions left the victim in "terror" and thinking he was going to die.
But in a sudden moment, the quick-thinking man grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Malik in the chest. Malik was left bleeding heavily from the wound, Hull Live reports.
He fled the house, but was soon stopped by police.
