Amadou Haidara, Boubacar Kamara and Ruben Neves from Wolves are seen as potential alternatives. Speculation over Paul Pogba and his Old Trafford future remains at fever pitch meanwhile, as he enters the last months of his contract with the Premier League giants.
As things stand, it's looking increasingly likely that United will lose him on a free transfer for the second time; a decade on from his initial Old Trafford exit after he joined Juventus on a free in 2012.
