Three social media influencers have been given a rap on the knuckles by the advertising watchdog, for not following ad rules and not giving followers the full picture about products they were promoting.
One account holder failed to tell her followers that she was a brand ambassador for a brand of make-up, another did not make it clear she had taken part in a paid collaboration for Tipperary Water, while a third was found to have advertised untrue benefits from a weightloss product.
Instagrammer Michelle Fox, who has a health and beauty page, ran a story which featured various products, and invited followers to ‘swipe up’ to buy some of them.
