Three generations of one Scots family who share same birthday celebrate milestone

A Scots family who beat the odds when three generations were born on the same day are celebrating another milestone this year.

Andrew Ballantyne made headlines in 2010 when he was given the greatest birthday present - a baby grand-daughter to celebrate.

But it wasn't the first time there was a huge coincidence as he also shared his birthday with his daughter Dawn Mylet. It was a one in 130,000 chance that an event could occur for a family and this year the grand-father is marking his 80th birthday.

Andrew was born on January 4, 1945, he shares the date with daughter Dawn, born 1974, and his grand-daugher Amy Hill (niece to Dawn) born 2010.Amy's mum Gillian told the Record: "It's always a hectic time for our family!
