Driver in A7 crash missing for three days as cops launch helicopter search

Officers investigating a missing man "injured" following a horror crash on a busy Scots road have asked residents to search their sheds as helicopter searches continue.At around 7.10pm on Tuesday, January 14, emergency service workers races to the A7 north of Selkirk after receiving reports of a crash involving two cars near to the Lindean junction.

Extensive inquiries remain ongoing as cops continue to try and trace Shane Donnelly/Barr, believed to be the driver of one of the cars, who was not at the scene when officers arrived.He may have been injured from the collision and a dedicated team of officers is working to trace him.

The female driver of the second car was taken by ambulance to Borders General Hospital for treatment.Further air searches took place yesterday as officers are asking people in the area to search sheds and outbuildings in case Shane has sought shelter.Police Scotland are appealing for anyone with dashcam from the A7 between Selkirk and Galashiels shortly before the crash to review it and contact police.

Inspector David Aitchison said: "It has now been sometime since this crash and concern is growing for Shane’s welfare."We believe he may have been injured in the collision and it is imperative that we trace him as soon as possible.
