Variety published on Tuesday, the same day the promos for Glenmorangie Scotch Whisky were released.Titled “Once Upon a Time in Scotland,” the campaign consists of a series of episodic films that follow Ford, who plays himself, as he journeys to Glenmorangie’s Highland home, Andross Castle in Scotland.With his characteristic prickly demeanor, Ford insists he won’t be doing “all that action man s–t that they want” before adding that he “will sit by the fire and drink.” Elsewhere in the series, Ford meditates, rides a bike, gets the boozy time by the fire that he wanted and tries on a kilt.Despite Ford’s perceived Edge, Edgerton says he discovered the “Star Wars” icon has a softer side.“I’d watched a lot of his interviews, and I realized that true or false, there’s a persona of Harrison’s that is quite gruff and, you know, grumpy, but he’s a bit like an avocado,” the actor and filmmaker explained. “He’s rock solid on the outside but he’s very soft in the middle.
