Ashley Storrie has paid a birthday tribute to her mum Janey Godley who would have celebrated her 64th birthday this week. The Scots comedian passed away at the Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow on November 2 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer and since, Ashley has been sharing her journey online on coping with grief.

It’s your birthday and you’re not here. I pretend you’re in New Zealand, doing the comedy festival like when I was 16 and you wouldn’t let me skip school to come with you.

Honey is fine. People keep asking about the dog and SHE’S FINE! I imagine if you came back that would be your first question “how’s my wee dug?!?”."I miss you and am still furious about you dying.
