Three fire crews called to tackle blaze at chip shop in Wigan

Manchester Evening News they saw thick smoke billowing from the chimney of the building. She said: “My husband smelt something burning and looked out of the window to see lots of “mist”.“When he looked out of the door, he saw lots of thick smoke billowing from the chimney on the side of the chip shop. “Then one fire engine turned up closely following by another two. “Firefighters in breathing apparatus entered the shop through the staff door and promptly got things sorted as the smoke cleared up.”  A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “At around 9:30 am on Tuesday 18 August, three fire engines from Hindley, Atherton and Wigan fire stations were called to reports of a fire involving electrical kitchen.
