Drinkers braved the cold to gather outside in chilly Soho in groups of up to six. In post-Lockdown London temperatures dipped below 5C but that was not enough to put thirsty customers off the chance to socialise and catch up with friends.
The government's new strategy to combat the spread of coronavirus bans people in Tier 2 from different households from mixing indoors, including in pubs and restaurants.
But the 'Rule of 6' applies outside and as long as revellers from an area of the same tier or lower order a 'substantial meal' they are breaking no rules.
