A man has revealed what life is like on an abandoned housing estate where prices of homes start at £15,000. Khaled Baleid, 58, first moved into his two bedroom house on Primrose Court in Huyton, Merseyside, back in November 2019.
He claims the 18-house estate has fallen victim to crime and fly tipping in recent years and many of the houses have been left derelict.
But Khaled is keen to see the area given a new lease of life, the Liverpool Echo reports. He says it is home to a good community and sees potential in the properties.
Since moving into his home, which he bought at an auction for £42,000, Khaled has fitted a new kitchen and bathroom. Last month he bought the house next door for £15,000, which he also plans to renovate.
