Gyles Brandreth shared a rather hilarious mix-up on his social media, having found himself at the centre of an excited crowd in London - only they thought he was none other than David Attenborough. The 76 year old, who is a regular on This Morning, tweeted about the mix-up, saying "I was excited to be mobbed by a group of school kids in Catford just now - until I discovered they thought I was David Attenborough." Gyles noted with amusement that it's not the first time he's been mistaken for the famed broadcaster, who is 22 years his senior.
He reflected humorously on X, "Disconcertingly, this has happened to me before. More than once. I suppose I should be flattered - even though Sir David is 22 years my senior." Responses to Gyles' tweet saw one fan point out the striking resemblance, quipping, "Completely clear - twins, separated at birth!" While another teased about the potential confusion, "How intriguing Gyles...did the kids discover their error when you didn't do 'the voice', or when you couldn't answer their questions on obscure tree-dwelling frogs?".
Another person commented: "Imagine getting your national treasures mixed up! ! ! ! " while another joked: "You could have made a small fortune selling autographs", reports the Mirror.
It was recently reported that Sir David Attenborough is not slowing down in presenting his beloved natural history programmes.
