Alison Hammond opened up about her weight on This Morning, revealing that she once had to purchase two plane seats due to her size.The presenter, who co-hosts with Dermot O'Leary, opened up during a discussion about whether passengers of larger sizes should be required to buy extra tickets when flying.
Alison shared her past experience of feeling 'embarrassed' while travelling and disclosed her impressive weight loss, dropping from nearly 28 stone to a healthier 17 stone.
She bravely admitted: "I had to lose weight because I was dying. People will still say I'm big but now I'm 17 stone rather than 28 stone and I'm comfortable with telling you my weight.?" She added: "I used to be 28 stone, I'll be honest with you.That is morbidly obese and so I used to buy an extra seat I'll be honest, every time I flew.
I didn't want to put anyone in a situation where I was touching them because I was made to feel uncomfortable on one occasion when I was slightly in their seat." Alison then demonstrated with her hand how much of the other person's seat she was occupying.The star went on to say: "The person asked to move but what they did in the end is move me to first class because the guy was being so rude.
