This Morning fans were left in shock after Cat Deeley made what might be seen as a bit of a blunder while leading into the Armistice Day tribute. The presenter was setting the stage for the two-minute silence when she used phrasing that struck a nerve with viewers, as she remarked: "We're going to go celebrate now...
with the memorial." The nation then observed a poignant silence at 11am to honour the sacrifices and service of the Armed Forces, as well as to pay homage to those who have fallen.
ITV marked the solemn occasion with This Morning broadcasting live from various memorial services across Cardiff, Edinburgh, Belfast, and Westminster Abbey.
The programme also featured the Cenotaph where servicemen and women continued their tributes in silence. When the cameras returned to the studio, Cat said: "Incredibly moving scenes there, you're watching This Morning on ITV1." Sharing the set with her were co-host Alison Hammond and ex-Royal Marine Ben McBean, who tragically lost his right leg and left arm in an explosion during his first tour in Afghanistan, reports the Mirror.
