Manchester city centre.Bars, pubs and restaurants would usually be packed as revellers partied into the early hours. But hospitality venues now have to operate on restricted hours under new measures to curb rising rates of coronavirus  infections.

Venues who refuse to comply with the 10pm curfew can be fined, or even forced to close.Customers can also be fined for failing to comply with the legislation.

The rules came into force on September 24 and last weekend, when revellers faced the new curfew for the first time, the M.E.Nreported how crowds spilled onto the streets at 10pm.
