Jurgen Klopp should have sold two other Liverpool players before sacrificing forward Rhian Brewster, according to ex-Reds captain Phil Thompson.
Young attacker Brewster joined Sheffield United in a £23.5million deal which also includes both sell-on and buyback clauses, as the Reds sought to balance the books during a summer dominated by the affect of coronavirus on their finances.
Brewster, 20, was seen as an exciting attacking option at Anfield, and he had hoped to progress at the club after scoring 11 goals in 22 games on loan at Swansea City last season.
