The UK has seen a huge surge in house prices over the last year, largely as a result of the pandemic. After lockdown, more and more people decided to move homes due to changing ideals and the stamp duty holiday also caused people to up sticks sooner than planned.
But the supply of properties couldn't keep up with the demand, therefore the homes that were available on the market had multiple buyers competing for them - pushing house prices further up.
This trend is continuing into 2022, with demand for property soaring by 49% and house prices even higher than what they were last year.
