The Voice US alum Ryan Whyte Maloney has died at the age of 44. On Tuesday, the Clark County coroner in Nevada confirmed that the singer's cause of death was suicide, as reported by PEOPLE.
Just one day before his death, Ryan had shared a video from what appeared to be a bar gig, captioning it: "Nine fine Irishmen for a private party tonight, and we will be rocking." Ryan found fame on Season 6 of The Voice in 2014, joining Team Blake Shelton with a stunning rendition of Journey's Lights and he made it to the Top 5 on Blake's group, before returning to perform on the finale.
During his time on the show, Ryan's performances included Tina Turner's hit, What's Love Got To Do With It. Born in Traverse City, Michigan, in 1981, Ryan was a music lover since childhood and played various instruments and eventually took a leading role in a progressive rock band.
He went on to record his album Tomorrow's Another Day in 2005 and after years of touring, he stepped into the spotlight as a solo performer.
